The Doctors
Dr Arul Thurairatnam (Male) MBBS (1979 Sri Lanka) MRCPI LRCP LRCS LRCP&S MRCGP Dip Addictive Behaviour Dip Geriatric Medicine Dip Clinical Dermatology
Arul has been in the practice since its inception in 1992. He offers a full range of general practice care to his patients. He has also developed a specialist interest in diabetic conditions, asthma,
hypertension, heart disease, care of the elderly, mental health, drug and alcohol addiction and chronic illness.
Dr Pushpa Selvapatt (Female) MBBS (Sri Lanka)
Pushpa has been with the practice since 2003 and has been a practising GP for many years. As well as providing a full general practice service, she has a special interest in women's health and
supports the antenatal and children's clinics based at the practice.
Dr Kirrija Prabaharan (Female) MD (USSR)
Kirrija joined the practice in 2006. She also provides full general practice service and is fluent in Russian, Tamil and Sinhalese.
Dr Rakesh Kapila (Male) MBBS BSc(Hons) DFFP
Rakesh has been with the practice since May 2009. He also provides full general practice service and tends to work the evenings.

The practice nurses are available by appointment. Their numerous tasks include:
• Taking blood for tests
• Infant and adult immunisations
• Cervical smears
• Travel vaccinations
• Dressings and removal of stitches
• Ear syringing
• Blood pressure, asthma and diabetes
check-ups.
They also assist the doctors in minor surgery and are always available to offer professional advice. Appointments may be made by telephoning the surgery.

The Manager
Prash Thurairatnam is the practice manager and he is responsible for the administration of the practice. He would be happy to hear your views and suggestions about the service offered by the practice.
Reception Staff
The staff behind the reception desk will assist you in making routine and emergency appointments to see the doctor or nurse, undertake repeat prescriptions, answer numerous and varied questions and offer help and assistance at all times. It is a legal requirement that confidentiality of patients’ records is maintained at the highest level by all staff.
